About the role
The duties described are for the full-performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity. The duties may include, but are not limited to: Provides input and recommendations to FOIA leadership on the interpretation and application of FOIA and Privacy Act policies, laws, and regulations. Reviews APHIS records and determines what information can be released or must be withheld under FOIA and the Privacy Act, applying established exemptions and agency guidance. Serves as a technical resource on the proper handling, dissemination, and disclosure of APHIS records in response to FOIA and Privacy Act requests. Independently processes FOIA requests ranging from routine to complex, including business, personnel, scientific, and agency policy records. Works with APHIS program offices and other USDA components to gather records, coordinate searches, and reach agreement on record release determinations
