About the role
The Antimicrobials Division (AD) is responsible for managing all registration and registration review activities for antimicrobial pesticides including the review of scientific data, participation in relevant research across a range of disciplines important for evaluating the safety of antimicrobial pesticides, development of human health and ecological risk assessments, and regulatory decision making for new registrations, registration review, and reregistration. AD serves as the primary point of contact for assigned pesticides for all regulatory and other customer inquiries. In its decision making for antimicrobial pesticides, the Antimicrobials Division applies principles of risk reduction, incorporating appropriately the principles of safer pesticides, and negotiating risk-reduction strategies with registrants, state officials, and others.
