Medical Records Technician (OA)

Reviews, analyzes, initiates and maintains medical records in accordance with prescribed directives. Files results for treatments such as laboratory reports and a variety of medical tests and radiology results. Enters information into the record tracking system when paper records are needed for appointments and reviews. Follows standard operating procedures to research, analyze and abstract pertinent information from records that may include multiple injuries, diseases and/or medico/surgical procedures and reports findings to requestors. Initiates, post charges, and forwards billing statements to appropriate accounting officer for action. Uses multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents and formats.
