About the role
Serves as the Deputy Inspector General for Investigations and the Director of the Defense Criminal Investigative Service (DCIS); the incumbent is the principal advisor to the Inspector General for investigative matters. Provides expert advice on matters concerning fraud, waste, and abuse DoD-wide, and criminal investigations thereof, to include the development and implementation of law enforcement policies, procedures, and objectives for the DCIS. Manages the coordination of investigations with other investigative units of Federal, state, and local governments. Brings to the attention of the Inspector General and the Secretary of Defense criminal activities discovered through investigations.
