About the role
Recommend measures to eliminate or control hazardous practices and conditions which may cause mishaps. Prepares supplemental written safety procedures for application to local organizational components. Performs inspections of the installation to determine compliance with environmental, occupational, health and safety laws and regulations. Performs periodic onsite surveys for assigned organization; inspects construction projects and designs to determine compliance with applicable environmental, occupational, health, and safety standards. Investigates mishaps involving worksites, machine and equipment operations, environmental conditions, spills, work practices, protective devices and equipment, and safety procedures to control unsafe acts and hazardous conditions. Provides formal training to employees and supervisors. Provides guidance in the development of Job Hazard Analyses.
