About the role
Some of the duties you will perform are as follows: Set up, plan and lay out sequence of work. Machine light and heavy machinery components. Manufacture parts per specifications on standard and specialized machinery and equipment. Establish dimensions to assure specifications are met for each new element. Performs machining in manufacture of castings, forgings, weldments and other fabrications often requiring untried procedures and use of new materials and unique designs. Use a variety of auxiliary attachments such as rotary vises, dividing and vertical milling heads, taper and tapping attachments of rotary tables, etc. Perform precision handwork to finish the machined components within close tolerances. Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance of machine tools. Interpret multi-dimensional drawings, isometric and orthographic sketches, blueprints, schematics, using independent judgment to correct, refine or adjust.
