Supervisory Agricultural Market Reporter (Assistant Chief)

The duties may include, but are not limited to: Recommends policies, procedures, and methods governing the administration of market news reporting functions on livestock, poultry, meat and grain for the assigned designated area. Proposed new or revised national policies are, in turn, reviewed by the incumbent and the Chief for practicability and adaptability to field operations for the assigned designated area. Reviews and evaluates program operations to determine their effectiveness or deficiencies and recommends efficient and effective methods of performance to the Chief to discuss desirable changes in programs or their operations. Ensures uniform interpretation and application of grade standards and terminology between offices to ensure uniformity on a national basis as it relates to market news reporting.
