About the role
Perform a wide variety of complex ultrasound examinations of human patients to aid in the diagnosis of disease or injury. Explain the ultrasound examining process to the patient. Extend and/or modify the procedure to ensure full and accurate information. Select, set up, adjust, and operate ultrasound equipment. Train radiologists, physician assistants, students, and other personnel in ultrasound principles, procedures, capabilities, techniques and equipment. Perform operator level maintenance and care of equipment.
