About the role
Formulates detailed acquisition strategies aligned with NASA, FAR, and Department of Energy policies for the develop space fission systems for both in-space and surface applications. Develop statements of work, define resource requirements, and projects cost and completion objectives. Develop policies/objectives; define evaluation and appraisal systems; participate in negotiations; evaluate contractor performance. Perform multiple management functions which may include: planning, design, test and evaluation, cost analyses, program and project management, quality management for projects. Manage/evaluate contractor efforts/assesses progress in relation to schedule/resources. Report progress and/or problems, direct changes, resolve problems, ensure conformance to plans/specifications, and assist where deficiencies are noted. Provide programmatic guidance to core and matrixed project support personnel and engineers, contractors, and technical support staff assigned to space flight systems
