About the role
Serves as a Plumber/Pipefitter responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities, equipment, utilities, fire protection, high pressure steam piping, and related pump systems. Maintains, tests, and repairs sprinkler system components, including alarm valves, dry valves, and quick opening devices, pipes, and valves. Conducts inspections of maintenance, repair, and installation projects, involving plumbing and the sprinkler systems, performed by contractors to ensure compliance with specifications, terms, and conditions of the contract. Uses plumber tools to diagnose defects and malfunctions and make repairs (e.g., wrenches, stock and dies, pipe cutters, pipe vises, etc. Conducts regularly scheduled preventive maintenance, completes inspection sheets, and requests work orders on major repairs. Incumbent will be required to attend the Fire Sprinkler School at Shepard Air Force Base in Texas, when opening is available On an intermittent basis, the incumbent may be require
