About the role

Serve as the key proponent in the establishment and maintenance of Defense Health Network West Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) programs. Provide guidance to DHN West on compliance with IPC related rules, regulations, and recommendations from federal, state, and accrediting agencies. Review existing policies and procedures to identify gaps, outdated information, and areas for improvement. Work with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish mission objectives in support of IPC priorities. Respond to medical and dental infection control issues and provide necessary follow up to determine root cause, contributing factors, and recommendations for corrective actions. Guide the development and implementation of activities and practices designed to ensure appropriate surveillance and other measures are taken to identify trends, clusters, and outliers of relevant healthcare–associated infections (HAIs).
