Human Resources Assistant (Military)

Command Military Awards Program: As the administrator for the Command Military Awards, the employee manages the entire life cycle of an award with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Maintaining a comprehensive awards tracker, which includes issuing suspense notifications to Directorates 90-120 days before a member transfers, retires, or is released from active duty. Drafting grammatically correct correspondence, such as officer promotion letters, and handling the final disposition of awards by mailing documents to former members and submitting the official signed award and NAVPERS. Electronic Correspondence Management: In this capacity, the HR Assistant serves as the command's assistant manager for the electronic correspondence routing system reporting to the Human Resources Department Head as the command’s primary manager. Special Pay: In this capacity, the employee serves as the Primary Point of Contact (POC), for Officer Actions and Special Pays.
