Cook

Prepare and cook a variety of menu items, including regular and therapeutic diet entrees. Perform roasting, broiling, baking, frying, grilling, boiling, steaming, and stewing meats. Independently prepare soups, stocks, broths, gravies and sauces without the use of package mixes. Clean and maintain equipment and work areas in sanitary conditions by sweeping and mopping floors; washing and sanitizing refrigerators, freezers, work surfaces, tables and utensils; and cleaning kettles, ranges, ovens, and other equipment. Operate various mixers, steamers, steam kettles, ovens and other electrical and/or mechanical equipment. Cook foods to proper temperatures and maintain proper food temperatures during holding, transport, re-heating, and serving to assure quality control and food safety.
