ACCOUNTANT (SYSTEMS)

Studies and evaluates existing automated accounting systems. Prepares necessary specifications to further develop and refine the automated accounting system. Coordinates with personnel from the USACE Finance Center, Division, and HQUSACE in the preparation of Automated Data Processing programs, including preparation of flow charts, assembling listings of programs and computer operating instructions. Performs continuous review of computer output to analyze and validate the integrity of the financial database. Coordinates accomplishment of systems duties individually or through a team of system accountants and programmers from the UFC. Improve procedures with due consideration to internal control and other accounting principles. Prepares non-routine correspondence involving the more important decisions, proposals or commitments to other offices within the Corps of Engineers, other governmental offices, and to individuals or firms.
