Pharmacy Technician

Perform pharmacy dispensing services. Receive and review individual prescriptions for the full range of pharmaceuticals, to include controlled drugs, to determine kind, strength, and dosage of drugs to be dispensed. Consider pharmacy policy limitations and instructions on the order. Set up prescriptions by obtaining correct stock container and calculating quantities. Conduct interviews with patients or their caregivers for the purpose of establishing medication history. Provide drug information to patients and caregivers and counsels patients/caregivers on proper medication use. Adhere to strict Federal and State laws, and other applicable regulations on all narcotics/ controlled substances. Work in intravenous additive solution area and performs sterile solution operations. Prepare and maintain various pharmacy records, files, and administrative reports determining and modifying format and content.
