About the role
You will provide enterprise wide scientific and engineering oversight of Combatant Craft Hydromechanics technology development (i.e., resistance and powering, seakeeping, hull form, propulsion, and ship control). You will provide oversight and coordination of Combatant Craft Hydromechanics research, development, test and experimentation initiatives across the Naval Research and Development Establishment (NRDE). You will recommend and oversee major Combatant Craft Hydromechanics technology and facility investments within the Division, Warfare Centers, NAVSEA, the DoN, and the DoW. You will ensure coordination of hydromechanics direction, research, proposals, and projects with appropriate Technical Authorities. You will provide recommended prioritization of Navy investment in innovative technologies, experimental testing, theoretical exploration and research for current and future combatant craft, crewed vehicle and uncrewed vehicle designs.
