About the role

The Deputy Associate General Counsel (DAGC) leads the Program Integrity Branch at the forefront of the government's efforts to combat fraud, waste, and abuse in federal healthcare programs. In this role, the DAGC directs a high-performing team of attorneys, setting legal strategy and ensuring the delivery of timely, high-quality, and impactful counsel on enforcement, compliance, and oversight across Medicare, Medicaid, and the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Serving as a principal advisor to CMS and OGC leadership, the DAGC shapes the legal framework for some of the most complex and consequential program integrity issues facing the Department. This includes guiding the interpretation and application of statutes and regulations, advising on sophisticated enforcement authorities and administrative remedies, and developing program safeguards that protect beneficiaries and taxpayer resources.
