SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY

Supervises and controls the operation of the section by performing short and long range planning, making work assignments and adjustments as necessary for accomplishment of the section’s mission. Plans, organizes, directs, and supervises in-house design and the review and approval of designs prepared by Architect/Engineer (A/E) firms. Makes field trips to sites and/or existing facilities to examine or check conditions and advise on projects. Performs analyses resulting in accurate evaluations for rehabilitation and/or restoration purposes. Performs and approves amendments and modifications as necessary to meet changed requirements or to provide for other unforeseen contingencies. Advises selection based on qualifications of A/E firms being considered for District projects. Instructs A/Es regarding requirement of HQ USACE directives and other DOD, DA, and OSHA criteria peculiar to such work.
