About the role
You will supervise a staff responsible for retirement and/or benefits advising and assisting as well as processing services for civilians throughout the Department of the Navy (DON) and United States Marine Corps (USMC). You will provide expert advice and guidance on complex issues to subordinate staff, Office of Civilian Human Resources (OCHR) Operations leadership, and external DON and USMC customers. You will interpret and implement higher level policies, guidelines and directives and develop and/or update Civilian Benefits Center (CBC) instructions, processes and procedures. You will compose responses and write letters to customer inquiries for appropriate signature, and draft responses to Congressional Inquiries. You will serve as a troubleshooter for complex retirement and benefits issues. You will draft DON Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)/ Common Business Processes (CBPs) as required.
