PAINTER LEADER

You will assign work orders and pass on worker's instructions for various jobs on the basis of knowledge, skills, and abilities. You will ensure needed plans, references, blueprints, material, and tools are available and needed stock is obtained from supply locations. You will conduct random checks while in-process of preservation to ensure quality and compliance are met by established requirements. You will prepare surfaces, mix paint, and other surface materials and determine sandblasting or painting methods on Surface Craft or Nuclear Submarines. You will lead Painters to perform Surface Preparation/Blasting and Preservation Coating work. You will identify, advise, and demonstrate minor repairs and maintenance on project support equipment, as needed. You will check work in progress and when finished for compliance with supervisor's instructions, work orders and established procedures. You will ensure that safety and good housekeeping rules are followed and maintained.
