About the role
Inspects and secures the integrity of buildings and equipment overnight on weekdays and all day on weekends. Includes floating plants and land based plants consisting of boats, buildings and grounds, boilers, HVAC, and mobile/fixed equipment. Operates load handling equipment (i.e. forklift trucks) to move, stack and unstack, load and unload materials in and about warehouses, storage areas, loading docks, and on and off vehicles, etc. Monitors, inspects, secures and cares for the operational integrity of berthed vessels (floating plants) to ascertain seaworthiness. Adheres to all requirements, Standard Operating Procedures, orders and instructions for standing watch. Observes and follows all safety procedures for crew and passengers in accordance with safety and health regulations. Adjusts auxiliary generator in event of power failure and contact supervisor if generator does not automatically start. Knowledge and experience to react as a first responder to various crisis to handle fires
