Subject Matter Specialist (Air Quality) - DIRECT HIRE AUTHORITY

Provides professional environmental technical expertise and program support to the office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force, Installations, Environment and Logistics (SAF/IE), Headquarters Air Force (HAF) A7C, Environmental Restoration and Quality Program Offices, Major Commands (MAJCOMs), Regional Support Branches (RSBs), and installation staff. Initiates, develops, sets specific objectives, and evaluates performances of AFCEC and installation environmental programs to ensure compliance with pertinent governmental policies, directives, instructions, applicable laws, agreements, and other criteria established by Congress. Collaborates with engineers, scientists, and other expert personnel at federal agencies, higher headquarters, installations, environmental regulatory agencies, sister services, and non-governmental organizations and stakeholders to ensure effective identification, evaluation, prevention, and resolution of complex environmental problems.
