About the role
You will perform maintenance, repair and minor overhaul of diesel engines and their auxiliary parts. You will replace worn parts such as fuel-injection parts, water cooling tower system parts, valves and other associated elements. You will check tolerances and clearances of parts, and make necessary adjustments, as needed and adjust nozzles, fuel injectors, and pumps. You will work on· two-cycle, double-acting and other types of diesel engines, repair starting engines, auxiliary air compressors, generators, alternators, gears and engine accessories. You will check mechanical parts of emergency power engines such as pivots, hearings gears, shafts, and pointer assemblies for damage and unusual wear. You will visually conduct scheduled and unscheduled inspection(s) of all power-generating units and associated equipment for any fumes, leaks and other abnormalities such as excessive oil and/or water in the area.
