About the role

As The Director, National Declassification Center, you will: Develop policies and procedures for declassification in cooperation with inter-agency partners. Ensure that the policies and procedures conform not only to national security requirements, but are archivally sound. Coordinate development of the National Declassification Center's (NDC) work plan; determine priorities and implement declassification program. Establish a quality assurance program using principles of risk management to ensure protection of still sensitive information while providing for maximum release of historically valuable information. Work with agency training staffs to develop standard training for declassification personnel in order to reduce instances of missed and/or misidentified equity. Direct efforts to use technology for more efficient declassification, particularly with regard to electronic and special media records.
