SECURITY SPECIALIST

Verify personnel granted access to classified information have the requisite level of security clearance and approval. Reviews and maintains existing Personnel Security Programs to ensure relevancy, currency and thoroughness in meeting existing or evolving security mission requirements. Prepares security bulletins, provides training and other information and awareness materials related to security, security systems and procedures. Recommends and initiates programs to implement security mission goals or improve or correct deficiencies to meet security mission goals and requirements. Determines the fitness and suitability of applicants, contractors, volunteers and employees for initial and continuing employment retention. Ensures that classified defense information is safeguarded throughout the District.
