About the role
Works under the general supervision of the Supervisory Recreation Specialist or Recreation Specialist. Instruct groups and individuals in a variety of outdoor adventure program tours and instructional classes using a variety of teaching methods. Activities include but are not limited to: ATV and snowmobile tours, whitewater rafting, fishing, camping, kayaking, hiking, bicycling, canoeing, rock-climbing, and stand-up paddle boarding. The incumbent is responsible for group management, and the safety of the participants must always be the number one priority. Assists in directing patrons, scheduling the use of equipment and scheduling special trips and tours. Must be familiar with all programs offered by Outdoor Recreation, as well as be familiar with the local area as the position requires providing information to customers.
