SUMMARY: GS-09: The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Child Development Director in long-range and day-to-day administration of a comprehensive Child Development Program. Assist with supervision of the Child Development Centers, which provide quality appropriate specialized developmental childcare and instruction of children ages 6 weeks to 5 years of age. The function of the program is to sustain the interest of the children and to contribute to their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. The assistant director also provides guidance to center staff in implementation of developmentally age appropriate activities. GS-10 and/or GS-11: The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor and assist the Child Development Center Director in the supervision of the day to day operation of a Child Development Center.
