LEAD ACCOUNTANT

Provides professional accounting advice and assistance to supported organizations. Proposes new procedures and methods or modifies existing procedures and methods to resolve current problems and enhance the validity, accuracy, and integrity of accounting processes. Provides technical advice and training to technicians and program managers regarding the processing of accounting transactions or reconciliation of accounting/financial reports. Participates in decision-making sessions and advises financial managers and program directors on regulatory requirements, financial policies, and data interpretation. Assists customers with accounting data interpretation, applies financial data to management problems, and develops extracts of accounting systems data for use in financial program execution analysis.
