Water Treatment Plant Operator

The duties may include, but are not limited to: Operate, inspect, maintain and perform various operational repairs on a sewage treatment plant and various auxiliary equipment. Performs all preventative maintenance inspections on all components of the base system on a scheduled basis. Makes emergency and/or scheduled overhauls of equipment with complex interrelationships among components, such as pumps, valves, digester mechanisms, universal joints, floats, lift pumps, etc. Operates water purification plant. Conducts periodic routine chlorimetric and laboratory tests of raw and treated water. Performs major and minor repair and maintenance of water works system. Maintains necessary preventative maintenance and related records for all equipment serviced; requisitions parts and supplies as required.
