About the role
Serves as the Resident Engineer and Administrative Contracting Officer (ACO) with direct responsibility for establishing the Resident Office's mission goals within organizational guidelines. Plans, coordinates and directs the accomplishment of the various phases of the construction program in the assigned geographic area ensuring that the intent of the plans and specifications is met. Represents the Contracting Officer and Area Engineer in negotiations with contractors concerning changes in construction, difficult decisions regarding controversies, which may arise between the contractors and Government employees. Reviews the contractors for conformance to the applicable plans and specifications and approves or forwards to District Office for approval. Monitors construction fiscal progress analyzes deviations from the plan and develops solutions to ensure commitments are met. Responsible for office activities including web functions such as compiling data for the preparation of payment
