Data Scientist

Serves as an advisor to project teams and leadership at the Division or Group level in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting unique and specialized CMS data sets that may inform agency decisions regarding CMS programs or CMS business operations. Conducts data collection, manipulation/cleansing, and analysis; develops data visualizations; and develops and tests hypotheses using tools such as Statistical Analysis System (SAS) software, R, or SPSS. Translates the results of analysis into clear, actionable communications that equip Agency decision makers with the data to make informed evidence-based decisions about program or operations strategy. Provides technical advice in the development and analysis of pilot initiatives and applications, and makes recommendations to management on the use of such technology as it relates to CMS data.
