About the role
The primary purpose of this position is: The purpose of this position is to test, troubleshoot, inspect, modify and repair egress/jettison systems used on assigned aircraft; instruct reservists and other employees augmenting teams to accomplish repair, modification, removal or installation; serve as team leader of foregoing teams and accomplish operational tests of all components of said systems. Incumbent must meet all requirements of the Personal Reliability Program for a controlled position. 1. Accomplishes scheduled inspections of egress systems; Controls tools. 2. Troubleshoots egress and jettison systems on operational aircraft and aircraft undergoing repair, overhaul, and modification; Certifies work produced under the USAF Technical Order Program. 3. Performs operational (or simulated operational) tests of egress and canopy jettison systems to ensure proper operation of all components using canopy blow testers, specialized test gauges, and push/pull spring scales. 4.
