About the role
Establishes and maintains custody of patient medical records according to the Army Records Information Management System (ARIMS). Provides information about medical records without compromising confidentiality of the patient in accordance with the Privacy Act of 1974, and policies and procedures IAW Medical Record Administration and Health Care Documentation. Maintains documents for annual records retirement and separating, screening, selecting, assembling, packing and preparing records for shipment to the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC). Prepares requests for medical records to and from other medical facilities, patients, their authorized representative, or other third parties. Receives patients and visitors as the initial point of contact, in person or telephonically. Maintains all patients' records, both electronic and paper, according to regulation ensuring each entry contains proper patient and health care provider identification. Responds to emergency calls and notifies
