About the role
As the Chief Records Officer, you will: Support the Archivist of the United States by communicating across the Federal Government, the mission-critical importance of Federal records management; communicate to executive and staff levels of government about records management responsibilities, and about records management developments and issues relative to compliance with statutory records management requirements. Ensure improvement of appraisal, scheduling, training access, and preservation of records through oversight of records management in federal agencies, especially for electronic records. Evaluate subordinate units' objectives, policies, procedures, their plans for short-and long term effectiveness, their resource utilization and stewardship, and their financial due diligence. Collaborate with NARA's Director, Congressional Affairs in briefing and testify before Congress on records management matters.
