General Engineer, AST, Technical Management (Direct Hire)

Plans and oversees the maintenance, operations, and upgrades of airborne instruments and related systems to support Earth observations, satellite calibration/validation, and special studies for NASA missions. Ensures operational capability of calibration facility to support airborne and spaceborne instruments and data workflows to deliver high quality, well characterized data. Provides technical management and contractor team oversight to ensure instrument readiness for multiple (2-3) major missions per year. Authors or contributes to technical publications on existing and internally developed instrument systems, including capabilities, upgrades, and data products. Partners with Center and NASA HQ stakeholders to lead formulation and development of new airborne and spaceborne instruments in support of current and future satellite missions. Coordinates with Center and NASA HQ stakeholders to support current and future Moon-to-Mars sensors, missions, and planetary exploration efforts.
