About the role
You will perform a variety of complex and advanced metal repair, fabrication, plan, layout, and structural disassembly/assembly of aircraft and aircraft components. You will utilize knowledge of geometry and trigonometry to calculate irregular angles, curves, etc. within the sheet metal mechanic trade. You will work from technical directives, drawings, manuals and other written or verbal instructions. You will assess damaged parts to determine the sequence of operations necessary to affect repairs or replacements. You will modify aircraft and its components by incorporating airframe changes (AFC), bulletins, etc. and use hand or machine methods to make replacements parts for aircraft structural and skin sections. You will chemically treat surfaces reworked and assess completed assemblies to ensure compliance with technical references.
