About the role
Responsible for supervising/performing the full range of emergency and routine procedures in the areas of microbiology, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, chemistry and blood bank. Perform both standard and non-standard tests and examinations, many of which are complex and require professional judgment in order for appropriate patient care to be provided. Evaluate requested procedures to determine the suitability of specimen for analysis, requesting new specimen if determined to be unusable. Select, perform, evaluate, and monitor the performance of test procedures using manual and/or automated techniques in accordance with predefined procedures. Perform operator maintenance on laboratory equipment. Conduct quality control procedures on equipment, reagents and products, and maintains proper records for quality control reports.
