About the role
Analyze and interpret incomplete project as-built data to determine existing project geotechnical conditions for future modifications. Provide recommendations for improvements to geotechnical methods, models, and tools to be used for USACE design and analysis assessments. Review engineering products to ensure compliance with established criteria, sound engineering principles, and professional practice. Assignments involve work in a broad range of activities within the field of geotechnical engineering involving many complicated features which may require innovative design solutions and application of new techniques. Assigned projects are commonly large, complex, and some features may be without precedent. Flood Damage Reduction projects include large earth-fill, rockfill, concrete or combination dams or systems of dams with many appurtenant features.
