SUPERVISORY FINANCIAL SYSTEMS SPECIALIST

Manages, plans, implements, monitors, evaluates, and operates major DFAS accounting and finance systems. Identifies actions required to sustain and improve DFAS accounting and finance systems to meet DoD and DFAS goals. Participates in formal/informal management planning, policy and decision-making sessions regarding legislative changes, technological improvements, and changes in governmental policies and procedures involving important resource management issues. Reviews, for soundness and technical adequacy, recommendations proposed by subordinate management and technical specialists; assesses the overall impact of proposed changes; and develops implementation plans. Maintains liaison with top management officials within DoD, DFAS, other executive branch agencies and the private sector to identify program requirements and management needs, and to discuss agency proposals regarding new or revised systems.
