About the role
Performs cost estimates, funding actions, construction progress reports, requests for contract modifications, reviewing contractors' submittals such as working schedules, disputes evaluation and coordinating field activities . Reviews plans and specifications and determines accuracy of requirements in terms of materials and equipment, their current costs, and time schedules. Analyzes contractor progress schedules to verify the need for time extensions to critical path activities related to modifications. Conducts negotiations with contractors; primarily presidents, vice presidents and major suppliers which entails the responsibility for a decision rendered on behalf of the Government. Advises field personnel and engineers on requirements for contract modifications. Orients contractors' representatives in procedural requirements for contract modifications. Evaluates contractor disputes through schedule analysis and contract interpretation then drafts related findings of fact in concert
