RIGGER

You will check gear to assure that it is properly maintained and useable to prevent damage to equipment or material handled or injury to himself or other workers. You will estimate sizes, weights, equipment capacities, and plans for clearance and safety factors. You will determine exact placement of such items as padeyes, beam clamps, and chain falls used to support and balance load along the route. You will direct operation of cranes and similar equipment, large structural parts, and other heavy loads.
