Budget Analyst

The work supports the OFM mission by contributing to the effective stewardship of CMS resources through sound budgetary planning, analysis, and execution across all organizational components. Monitors, reviews, and reconciles commitments, obligations, reimbursable orders. Assures that obligations incurred and resulting expenditures of funds are in accordance with pertinent laws and regulations. Develops written narrative justifications that support the budget requests and are presented to internal and external audiences including CMS leadership, HHS, OMB, and Congress. Develops annual work plans and schedules for the planning and execution of approved budgets. Forecast future revenues and/or cost and evaluate how they relate to program operations. Gathers, compares, and correlates information about projected revenues and/or costs of current and future programs and activities. Identifies issues and provides recommendations for resolution of complex problems.
