Registered Nurse - Assistant Nurse Manager

Major Duties of the Registered Nurse - Assistant Nurse Manager (To include but not limited to): Serving as the first line supervisor of nursing personnel in the patient care area ensuring the head nurse/NM retains VA Handbook 5007 requirements (examples may include but are not limited to supervising the nursing assistants and/or licensed practical/vocational nurses (LPN/LVNs) in the patient care area or supervising the nursing personnel on evening and/or night shift). Approving schedules and leave for employees under their direct supervision. Appraising performance, recommending performance standards, and recommending performance awards for employees under their direct supervision. Serving as hiring official during the recruitment process for employees under their direct supervision.
