About the role
Leads the OFS Federal Sector Appeals Service, advising the OFS Director and Chair and guiding the adjudication of appeals from federal agencies’ administrative decisions on equal employment opportunity (EEO) complaints. Reviews and recommends dispositions on appeals from final decisions of federal departments and agencies on EEO complaints filed by federal employees and applicants for federal employment. Recommends EEOC actions and decisions on petitions for review of Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) decisions filed by federal employees and applicants for federal employment. Reviews EEOC reconsideration requests, handles discrimination-complaint appeals issued by agencies or their designees (including arbitrators or the Federal Labor Relations Authority), and processes appeals under the Government Employee Rights Act.
