About the role
You will prepare surfaces and apply protective and decorative coatings to the interiors, exteriors, furnishings, fitments, instruments, and consoles of Nuclear submarines, production plant equipment, buildings, barges, and surface craft. You will prepare ferrous and non-ferrous surfaces by removing oxides, scale, rust deteriorated films, oils, grease, growths, and other contaminants. You will utilize hand wire brushes, hand scrapers, steel wool, scotch-brite pads, and various hand cleaning brushes. You will assemble and set up portable blasting equipment. You will mix, match, tint and blend coating materials adding various agents. You will inspect completed work for paint coverage and adherence to specified mil thickness prior to quality assurance inspection.
