Sheetmetal Joiner Intern

This is an entry level position in the Sheetmetal Joiner area and will be responsible for assists mechanics and journeymen in the Sheetmetal and boat joiner trades. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Common tasks are involved in the construction, repair, maintenance, overhaul and conversion of a wide variety of types and sizes of marine crafts and vessels in connection with miscellaneous manufacturing projects performed at the Yard.. Using power and hand tools common to the trade, the incumbent performs a variety of less difficult tasks related to Sheetmetal and boat joining, such as assisting in the layout, fabrication, installation, and removal of but not limited to ductwork and other Sheetmetal components, furniture, decking, ceilings, etc. Mandatory training is required which must be successfully completed and other training may occur as necessary for success in the position.
