About the role
You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER and be responsible for serving as the project point of contact for customers, activity, command, and contracting teams. Also serves as an engineer for independent technical reviews, project scoping, field investigation, planning, cost estimating, problem and conflict resolution, scheduling, design production and construction. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Providing technical advice and strategic program management for specific infrastructure asset types. Recommending strategic project prioritization to best deliver value to operational customers using that asset (housing assets, training assets, gyms, clinics, etc). Participating in scheduled design reviews and conferences to ensure methods, plans, and specifications are clearly defined and providing guidance to improve the design.
