General Engineer

Applies engineering knowledge to engineering scientific situations and participates in developing new approaches to difficult problems. Reviews a wide range of tobacco products (e.g. cigarettes, vapes, pipes, etc.) to determine the adequacy of the results from engineering disciplines or other studies concerned with exposure and health determinations of product reports/applications. Prepares comprehensive synopses of reviews of reports/applications with recommendations for revision, acceptance, or rejection. Provides advice and assistance to scientists and officials on a wide range of engineering matters. Provides verbal and written conclusions to other Federal agencies, industry, universities, and state, local, and foreign governments.
