About the role
Provides advise and recommendations to the Director of Loan Operations as to the level of complexity of the environmental acceptability review process. Provides technical oversight to junior environmental staff as they work with borrowers to finalize compliance with NEPA and environmental cross-cutters to support environmental acceptability. Reviews preliminary applications against selection criteria to provide project selection support. Evaluates project readiness for construction projects to begin. Provides expert direction to junior staff to review environmental reports and documents for environmental compliance with terms, conditions, and covenants in the credit agreement during the period of construction and prior to loan approval. Acts as primary point of contact to prospective borrowers, congress, cooperating Federal agencies, ASA(CW), OMB, and trade groups on compliance with environmental Federal requirements to determine environmental acceptability for the loan program.
