About the role

You will serve as a/an Electrical Engineer and be responsible for responsible for the nationwide modernization, maintenance, and repair of existing Coast Guard cutters. You will develop design, plan, and develop specifications to install electrical components and systems in Product Line vessels.. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Developing complete designs and technical specifications for improvement, alteration, repair, maintenance, and installation of electrical engineering systems on Coast Guard cutters. Acting as a project leader and a member of multi-disciplinary design teams. Determining where major failure problems or instabilities within assigned systems exist through the failure report system. Developing new designs, evaluating proposed designs and preparing the related fabrication or installation specifications. Preparing maintenance, repair, and modification specifications of shipboard systems
